The K.D.O. Method: How to Keep, Delegate, or Outsource for Growth
At one point, I realized I was trying to be everything in my business—visionary, Financial projections, HR, admin, and manager. It wasn’t sustainable. I was exhausted, drowning in to-do lists, and barely making progress.
That’s when I created a simple but powerful filter that changed everything: K.D.O. — Keep. Delegate. Outsource.
This process helped me stop trying to fix everything and instead focus on what was truly mine to carry. It’s a mindset shift, a clarity tool, and a business growth strategy all in one.
Here’s how it works:
1. KEEP
These are the tasks that only you can do. They align with your leadership role, your vision, and your highest value in the company. This might include casting vision, making executive decisions, or mentoring your team. Anything that drives the business forward in a way no one else can? That’s what you Keep.
2. DELEGATE
These are the tasks that need to get done—but not necessarily by you. Someone on your team can be trained and trusted to handle these. Delegating doesn’t mean dumping—it means empowering others with clear expectations and support so you can focus on the big picture.
3. OUTSOURCE
These are the tasks that eat up your time and energy but don’t require your personal touch—or your internal team. Think accounting, marketing design, or tech management. If someone outside the business can do it faster, better, and more affordably, outsource it to a Virtual Assistant, Contractor, or company outside of your organization.
When you start running your decisions through this filter, things shift. You stop saying “yes” to everything. You stop treating every task like a priority. You begin to protect your time—and your team’s.
You also begin to lead differently. You move from carrying all the weight to building a structure that carries it with you.
So here’s the challenge: Take your current to-do list and sort it using K.D.O.
What are you holding that you must keep?
What are you doing that could be delegated with a little training?
What can be outsourced for better efficiency?
You don’t need more hours in the day. You need a better way to make decisions. K.D.O. is that way.
And remember—doing nothing is still a decision. Waiting for the “perfect” time often leads to missed opportunities. Don’t wait for the breakdown. Build your system now.
